Monday morning thoughts after wild SEC weekend

Wow. What a weekend.
Kentucky upsets #10 Florida at home, Texas A&M goes down to Mississippi St and Auburn and Tennessee as well go on the road to beat LSU and Missouri respectively.
What does this all mean? Kentucky’s win was one of the bigger ones of the weekend with Kentucky’s defense coming up huge in big spots. Kentucky had to preserve some late magic and batted down pass to beat Florida for the first time in Lexington since 1986. Congrats Kentucky.
Mississippi St went into College Station and stunned Texas A&M in a wild finish. Offense didn’t lose this game for Texas A&M, the defense did. Offense played well enough to win but the defense didn’t have the best game. defense gave up 408 yards passing. Huge win on the road for Mississippi St and the fighting Mike Leach Bulldogs.
Tennessee racked 680 total yards Saturday against a poor Missouri defense. Hendon Hooker and Tiyon Evans each had 3 touchdowns on the day. Tennessee’s defense also had a good day as well with 2 interceptions against the 3rd best offense in the league. Huge confidence win for the Vols in Columbia.
Auburn went on the road to LSU and won for the first time since 1999. Biggest play of the night came from Nix to Tyler Fromm and his ability to elude LSU defenders and scrambled around for 60 yards and the touchdown. Nix took getting benched last week against Georgia St as a lesson and played with more fire this week. Harsin got through to Nix and Nix made it pay off.
Wild weekend in the SEC. Kentucky is 2nd in the SEC East unbeaten at 3-0 and 5-0 overall. Big week looms for Kentucky as they have LSU coming to town and Georgia the following week. Who would of thought before the season that Kentucky/ Georgia could possibly determined the SEC East? Well, it’s here. Weekend balls go out to Auburn, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi St. one of the best weekends we’ve had in quite some time.
GO SEC!
