Mississippi St vs Memphis preview

Many of those considered to be football experts will say by the third game of the season coaches and players should have all the bugs worked out with the team and product on the field, This game acts as the bellwether for the rest of the season.

Saturday’s matchup between Mississippi St and Memphis at the Liberty bowl will see where Both teams end come end of year. Both teams come in 2-0 on the season and both are looking for momentum.

Memphis shown in their first 2 games they can put up some points and have thrived on the big play. Seth Hinagan, a true freshman put up 5 touchdowns in the win over Arkansas St. Hinagan put up 250 yards on the ground and by air 417 yards in a high scoring affair. This week I don’t see Memphis putting up those numbers against an SEC defense. Will Rogers will be key in this one. Last week Rogers had a good day, but even Mike Leach said Rogers could have been better.

In the end I believe Mississippi St’s offensive line will do well against the Memphis defense. Rogers will have plenty of reads to get the ball to the open receivers. My prediction: Bulldogs win and get ready for a big matchup with LSU next week.
