Mississippi St defense shines in victory over Wolfpack

Mississippi St Bulldogs came into Saturday’s game an underdog in their own stadium but came out the victors, 24-10, as their defense provided a stellar effort in shutting down the Wolfpack offense. The Bulldogs appeared more focused and cut down on the mistakes that almost led to their defeat a week ago. The Bulldogs held the Wolfpack’s offense in check and shut down their running game by allowing only 32 yards as compared to 293 yards a week ago.

The Wolfpack was forced to air it out and could never really mount sustained drives that put points on the board. The Bulldog’s offense showed some signs of life after a 100-yard kick-off return by Lideatrick Griffin opened the game and electrified the crowd.
Though the Bulldogs compiled over 300 yards of offense in the game, questions are still lingering around the consistency of this group.

The Bulldogs go back to work this week to prepare for their match-up next Saturday against Memphis.
